# Getting started

> Create an account and a workspace, or try the demo workspace, and run your first forecast.

## Create an account and a workspace

1. Open the platform and choose **Sign up**, or sign in with your company's single sign-on if it is set up.
2. Create a workspace for your company. A workspace holds one company's plan, records and members; you are its
   owner.
3. Invite people from the workspace's members page and give each one a role: owner, finance admin, finance
   editor, reviewer or read-only.

## Try the demo workspace

A self-hosted installation seeds a demo workspace, Aurora AI GmbH, a Berlin B2B AI SaaS company. Sign in as
`founder@aurora-demo.test` to see a complete plan with scenarios, records and reports.

## Run your first forecast

1. Fill in the plan builder's steps, or import a spreadsheet (see
   [Import a spreadsheet](/learn/guides/import-a-spreadsheet)).
2. Open **Scenarios** and run the base scenario. The run shows profit and loss, cash flow, runway and break-even
   for 36 months.
3. Approve the inputs when they are right. Approved inputs and the run's input hash are what reports and signed
   statements refer to.

## Ask the assistant

Open **Assistant** and ask a question about your plan. The answer names the forecast run and input hash it used.
Anything the assistant creates, such as a draft scenario, waits for a person to review it.

## Run it yourself

The platform runs with Docker alone: `cp .env.example .env` and `docker compose up --build`, then open
`http://localhost:4200`. Updating keeps your data: pull the new version and run `docker compose up --build -d`.
